I live in [NEIGHBOURHOOD] with my [PARTNER] and our [NUMBER] kids, who attend [SCHOOL(S)] in the Greater Victoria School District. Like most parents I've spent more time at drop-off, on the sidelines, and in PAC meetings than I ever expected to, and that is where this campaign started: in conversations with other parents who were tired of the district being in the news for everything except what our children were learning.

That experience is why technology is a pillar of my platform. I've seen what software can do for people and what it does to attention, especially children's attention. I don't approach phones or AI in schools as a skeptic or an enthusiast. I approach them as someone who builds these tools and knows exactly how they're designed to work.

Because our district has spent two school boards' worth of energy on fights and almost none on whether kids can read and do math at grade level. Because the budget is being balanced with one-time money while programs get cut. And because I think a board that behaves like grown-ups, measures what matters, and keeps phones out of classrooms would be the most consequential change SD61 has seen in a generation.
